Not Even 1st Class Facility, Already 3rd Class Mentality

I’ve held my tongue so far but I can’t stand it anymore. I blame jap for triggering me getting all boiled and brewed up!

My homeland is sure one cool country! We are the first to send a part time male model up to the space *bangganya* but we can’t spend a dime on improving the hospitals, say, in their customer service department. Now we are not asking for first class, royal private hospital services, just… humane treatment. Is that so much to ask?

My grandma had to wait in University Hospital's emergency ward with a swollen and "feverish" foot from THREE PM to ONE frigging AM, ladies and gents, that's 10 frigging hours wait for an old lady in pain! Just so someone will take a look at her and poke a pen on her foot. T__T

3 hours after her wait, she managed to go for X-ray.

2 hours later and finally she’s called to see a doctor, and the doc said she’ll need a new X-ray and asked us to go straight to the X-ray room, no waiting needed.

When we reached the X-ray room, you’re supposed to press the door bell to alert the attendant. 3 times pressing the doorbell and no one came out. We can’t be waiting and not know what’s next right?

So Jason pushed the door opened after half an hour wait (and risked being shot at with those… rays and we haven’t even have kids yet! T_T’’’), and guess what, not one, not two, not three, but FOUR of them paid staff were sitting in there, chatting away about world peace!!!! And they had the cheek to say, we didn’t hear the bell.

And then after X-rayed, my grandma’s supposed to be given a receipt, and go back to the doctor immediately, but the attendant specifically asked her to wait outside of the room and he’ll send the receipt out for her. So we waited. Other patients went in and came out, WITH RECEIPTS, and were all gone!

So Jason opened the door, and guess what?! Those staffs are DANCING in the room to the tune of dangdut!!!!!! And when they saw us watching them at the door, one of them promptly picked up a piece of paper from the table and walked over matter of factly and passed it to us like, oh I don’t know, dancing in the X-ray room is part of the job requirement, and that it’ll actually make the patients’ X-ray results turn out more positive after the dance!

Can’t stand then go to private hospitals, you say? Yeah, we have a choice, we can choose to work real hard and earn a lot of money which a big chunk will go to the taxes that is used to send part time models of a certain race to space so that we can go to private hospitals and give them all our hard earned money so that we'll be treated like a human, OR we can just go to the government hospitals (and still work hard to survive no less) and be yelled at and wait for the whole day, never mind it’ll cost you a day’s wages, just wait, and shaddap.

Then I ask you, what about those poor people who can’t even afford food and education for their children, let alone a private clinic visit? Do they automatically lost their right to humane treatments just because they can’t make as much as you to spend?

Joh! The more I type the angrier I get!!!!! Argh!

Whyy??? Why my country liddat wan???? Oh and don’t get me started with the angkasawan cum PART TIME MODEL. Just. Don't.

Kill me. Just kill me please! T___T

SpaSpaSpa!

Output week is *finally* coming to an end! Yay-ness!

Phew!

God is amazing in sustaining me through out, and providing! He brought me 2 more projects which I’m real excited about (OK, maybe I’ve exaggerated a little on the part of *real* excited, that’s an overstatement, definitely), the only problem is, I’m computer-less now :( How do I want to work on those stuffs without a computer? Daym! Darn!

We are still shopping for one, and are pretty much set out hearts on a Dell Vostro. But I won’t count on getting the lappy in time to deliver my work (it’s due next month, my work I mean), because by the time the whole transaction is done, I don’t know how many delays will take place before the lappy is safe and sound on my lap (Heh, check out my pun. Good eh? *grin*)

But no matter! Something will work out.

I’m off again this weekend! To Cameron Highlands, not exactly a trip I look forward too, but hey, let’s just hope I’ll get to start working on those translations, and not be like the other time - suffering late-nights-early-mornings-lack-of-sleep-crazy-woozy-pimply-breakouts! Brr!

And I’ll be on a mission next Friday: go for spa in the name of review! A spa session of 4 friggin’ hours baby! Whoo hooo!!!!

I must say I’m not a big fan of massages and facials. In fact, I’ve never done massages and stuff my entire life, save for those times I sprained my ankles and neck and stuff and my mom would hauled me to the tabib cina to fix things T_T

And facials! Argh! Facials to me are one of those things you pay to suffer, you know, like going on roller coaster rides and horror movies? But it’s a blessing, really. For no apparent reason my back and shoulders have been rather stiff and achy for the past 2 days and my skin, well let’s just say it has seen better days. Le sigh.

So the assignment is actually a blessing in disguise. I mean, going for a 4 hour session spa during work time? T__T (<-- so touched can die!) Who on earth actually gets to do that (except for writers and journalists lah! Nyahaha!)?!!!

I think after me more people will apply to be writers! LOL (I sedang syiok sendiri, boleh? :)

Oh boy I better sign off! Gotta finished one more piece before I get to go! I’m gonna go visit Polly later! :D And then iron clothes, pack up, do my aspirin mask, fold laundry, wash hair, eye mask. OMG! So much to do!!! =.=’’’

Well hey I hope you guys’ll have a great weekend too! :)

Stew Obsession

I’ve been craving for a bowl of piping hot stew for the longest time. Now I haven’t cook enough to label myself a good cook, but I am however, a decent, creative cook! (haha! Typing this line makes me feel oh-so-cool and tingly all over!).

Alright, alright, creative in the sense I improvise pretty well and I usually cook by imagination. I would imagine out the recipe and what goes in first and next in my mind, prepare whatever that’s left over in the fridge, and then, talk to myself as I cook. Yeah. -_-

So yeah, stew. I cooked a big pot last night for tonight’s dinner, and boy do I kick ass! (HAHAHAH!) OK, so the gravy is not exactly gravy, rather soup-ish, but that’s just because I’ve overdone the water, ran out of flour, and my corn flour was expiring (or expired… erm). Other than that, yeah baby! (HAHAHA!)

The Simplest Chicken Stew On Earth

1 whole leg of chicken (or parts)
1 medium carrot, cubed
2-3 tomatoes, quartered
2-3 potatoes, cubed (or however way you want ‘em)
2 onions, diced
1 stalk of celery, sliced
Salt and pepper
A little corn flour in a little water
2 cups water or chicken stock
Oil or a knob of butter

Brown the chicken with oil or butter, set aside. Dunk in the onions and let fry till soft, then dump in the carrots, celery, and potatoes. Pour in the stock or water. Then throw the browned chicken and the tomatoes in. Salt and pepper it, bring to boil, pour in the corn flour, bring to boil on high. And then lower the fire and simmer for 20 - 30 minutes.

And then you eat. With bread. Or baguette. Or wholemeal or wheat bread! My favouritest combo!

Follow-up note to self: Hmm, think adding half a can of cream and/or red wine in will make it sexier?

Disclaimer: this is a stew-cooking attempt done by my imagination (blame her!). Don’t sue me if your imagination doesn’t like it!

Ready For Showers?

When I was a mere 6 years old, I once saw this ultra cool shower system in a showroom, mini me stood before the valves and taps and jets and what nots, I knew instantly that that’s my dream shower - a shower head over me, numerous taps as controllers, jets positioned in various directions surrounding me (well, except for my back), water ready to shoot me in the most sensational ways only a mere 6 years old could ever imagine!

That, was the turning point of my understanding about showering. It’s not just a body-cleaning, odour-removing chore, rather a hobby everyone should pick up for everyday enjoyment!

Alas, age catches up and that ultra cool shower system had been swept under the deepest, darkest corner of my mind… only to be revived by this very website today.

Check this baby out:

The Monet Triple Thermostatic Valve + 8” Head and Jets shower! Imagine the invigorating gushes of water against your tired-out body after a hard day’s work in the office! Yeah baby!

I really can’t stop ogling at the Sensational Shower range by Taps4Less.com! I have this endless fascination over shower heads that hang directly over your head; it’s as if you’re showering under a waterfall or something! It’s so to-die-for!

Hmm, now that Christmas is near, reckon I can give the hubs a subtle nudge and hint eh? :)

Want To Join My Atas Club?

Cerlyn did this test thing which I thought was erm… cute. So I took the quiz too and turned out,

You Are French Food

Snobby yet ubiquitous.
People act like they understand you more than they actually do.

I am French food. Yum.

Ha. Ha. The irony of it all! After the prayer meet last night, we met Janvier [shjong vyay] (see, he has this really beautiful sounding name which means January, but a sad thing people can’t pronounce his name, he ended up telling everyone to just call him January -_-), the French speaking Benin guy in church. And you have no idea how stressful I am every time I meet him. =_=

Not that he’s a scary mean guy, but he’d be so nice trying to make me speak and practice my French (and yes, that’s stressful! Because I don’t know why I’m sooo conscious and afraid to speak it! Yeah yeah I know, never mind making errors, just parler! Whatever. I’m conscious means I’m conscious lah. Yeah lah, trying very hard to overcome that lah T__T)

So yeah, he’s trying to speak again with Uncle Roy “encouraging” on (Oui, mademoiselle blah blah T_T I don't know why but I feel anything typed in french must be italic. Italic is so... French! O.o) and the next thing I know, some other uncle standing nearby suddenly chipped into the conversation and started blah-blah-ing en français non stop!!! Gahhh!!! Nightmare!

Uncle-standing-nearby: Let’s go mamak and we can continue our French club planning! (!!!!)
All other uncles: Yeah yeah, let’s go!
Leishia: T_____T can we do it in English? *defeated*

So yeah, French club. Janvier has been giving me the idea of a French club some time ago. And French club to me is… movies, food, music, friends, yay, fun, speaking english with faux french accent, like this -> but zee cheeze izh justz sexcelenz! Non? But, judging from the reactions I got from my dear friends about the language, and how occupied I am with other work, the whole plan has been stalled.

But looks like, no longer T__T

Janvier is an extremely sweet gentleman who very kindly offer to help us who wants to practice speaking French. And he even offers to conduct bible studies in French until he leaves the country end of this year.

I know I’m truly blessed with opportunities to practice my languages with so many friends around me who has the flair in one or another, but I’m so chicken -_- But no more! I have to like, “come what may just go speak darn it embarrass mah embarrass loh don’t be so cheecken lah! T__T”

So if there’s anyone of you out there who actually speak the language and see a gem of an opportunity in this OR those of you who are really interested to learn the language, drop me a line/feedback/suggestions/whatever, we can always arrange something to suit to our levels and needs (eh, give face lah! Join lah! Don’t understand also join lah! Think of all the mamak sessions we can go to after class lah!). Janvier won’t be in Malaysia for long. So, let’s not let this chance slip by! (I’m gonna go stay with his family for 2 months and I’ll speak French like you drink Perrier! Whoo hooo!!! Uh… air ticket sponsors, yes?)

I hereby launch the Life. Undressed French Club. (O_o)

P/S I have so many things to blog about! Like, a bunch of handscum Bollywood stars cooked for ME (ok lah, and Jason too lah), and, and the things I do during working hours to uh… bring out the linguist in me. Sabar ok? Sabar. Will have all these up soon.

Now, I have to go finish my boss’ daughter’s home work first. T____T

P/S/S Many thanks to Dohnie and Jappy (such lovely couple! Hee!) for the Kit Kats, SOHHH TOUCHED! I don’t know why suddenly both give Kit Kat but, no matter, I got Kit Kats now! Yay! And I am so not stressed anymore!!! :D …. But when I stressed again, I’ll let you guys know hokay? Hehehe

I don’t know if you need to re-subscribe or errr… re-do something if you’ve previously subscribe or something… (OK, at this point I’ve no idea what I’m yabbing about, but you get the drift). So in any case, subscribe to my blog! I pwomise lots of uh… lamemarried life joke! (I kid! I kid! Jason dear! Don’t fret! Hehe)

> Announcing the birth of Before Nine! :) My new blog! (Yeah lah, yeah lah, I know I sampat itchy hand lah!)

And finally, to those who celebrates Hari Raya, here’s wishing you Selamat Hari Raya, Maaf Zahir dan Batin!

Have a great weekend people! And stay safe while on the road! :D

Hubs: Because you’re a girl! Girls don’t fart!
Wife: Whaaa???
Hubs: Yeah lah! Never once I heard you fart before!

Another random day in the car

An Open Letter To Our Dearest Andy

Hey Andy (in my brain, it’s always “auntie” hehe),

You have no idea how happy we were to hear the good news! We are sorry for not visiting you. We figured you’ll be too tired out from receiving so many visitors through out the whole weekend and explaining the condition over and over again, so we didn’t come see you (OK, I lied. I was afraid I would cry in front of you and have awkward silences in between. -_- Sowee.)

But I heard from many, many people who visited you that you were so strong, so positive, and so happy through out! You’ve reminded and taught us all what “trust in the Lord” and what “Faith” is. Surely, God never looked at age and status, but uses whoever who have Faith in Him to speak to the world!

Through you, through this crisis, the church is knitted so much closer! I tell you, you’ve no idea how “gamdong” it was man! You are really, really loved!

Rest and get well now! We want to see you back in church (and on Frisbee field!) real soon! Hokay? (You should see all the bitter-gourd/horse/sour face that all your youth friends bore through out the weekend! Never seen them so dead before! Hehe)

Always with lots of huggies and love,
... (OK lah, for you I'll call myself...) Auntie (-_-) Leishia & Uncle Jason

With God, All Things Are Possible!

Jap: Are you coming to church tonight?
Me: Yikes! Today’s Friday! Deeper Life Service tonight!
Jap: Yup! Come lah! I sensed something big is happening tonight. I have a strong feeling…

xxx

The Church was shocked beyond words when pastor spoke over the mic on Friday night requesting prayer for Andy.

“… admitted to hospital… suspect of leukaemia”

I froze midair from fumbling my bag for some pen, mint or something. It’s impossible! He’s a fine young man, with a whole lot of future before him! He’s a golf diva! He’s athletic! He’s such a happy person! He’s strong and healthy! He’s so young! He… loves You… How can this be?

We joined hands and prayed, every one was in tears. It’s impossible. It’s impossible.

My heart broke over and over again seeing Andy’s parents and his brothers, thinking about Andy. I just saw him last week. He was just fine. It’s impossible. This can’t be.

We prayed and prayed.

xxx

Sunday service was one of the most beautiful services I’ve ever experienced - I heard One Voice. The church was united in One Voice. It was thunderous. It was unified. It was heartfelt. It was so beautiful! One voice! I’ve never heard of One United Voice before! It was breathtaking.

So beautiful.

xxx

The test results are out.

Jap was so excited on the phone. I was dizzy from the contagious excitement! I could hardly hear him right. But I caught the key words:

Not cancerous. Benign. Curable. 2 years therapy. Discharge in one or two days.

Praise God! Praise God! Praise God!

The splendour of a King, clothed in majesty
Let all the earth rejoice All the earth rejoice

He wraps himself in Light, and darkness tries to hide
And trembles at His voice Trembles at His voice

How great is our God, sing with me How great is our God,
and all will see How great, how great is our God

Age to age He stands
And time is in His hands
Beginning and the end
Beginning and the end

The Godhead Three in One
Father Spirit Son
The Lion and the Lamb
The Lion and the Lamb

Name above all names
Worthy of all praise
My heart will sing
How great is our God

How great is our God, sing with me How great is our God,
and all will see How great, how great is our God!!!

Lady Luck Luuurves Me

I’ve been telling everyone on my MSN list about a funny incident I saw on my way to work this morning. Tee hee, it was pretty darn cute *snigger*

At a random traffic light, there’s this cat across the street, on the “low land”, next to a concrete wall, beside a drain. (Heh. Just so you can imagine mah!)

The cat attempted jumping over the wall - on to the “higher land”. So it (“it” because I don’t know if it’s a boy or girl) leaped and jumped. And it fell right down mid-wall!

Badabing kaplonk kaboom! And it bounced right into the drain. Haha!

And it took him/her a long minute to get back up and shake its body dry.

And then it looked around, slowly sat down, and… acted like nothing happened. (At this point, it almost sounds like a nursery rhyme, doesn’t it? hehe Me farny!)

Sailorsim says cats need good street credential too, regardless they've used up their 9 lives or not. -_-

It was so funny. I was chuckling all the way to work.

And then catty karma came (well hey I wasn’t even laughing at it like LAUGHING AT IT. I was just laughing because it was uh… cute? I rweally thought and I was about to change my mind that, of all things, cats can be cute too! HONEST! *pout*)

xxx

So this tiny boy came into the office in the afternoon with a cat (that apparently costs 3 frigging k!) in hand. This manager picked the boy up on one hand, and the cat on the other, and came right to me, and shoved it to my face (uh, I was too engrossed in spreading the joy telling the cat story. -__-)

O_o So I freaked out!

Then THAT WAS IT. The boy, being the FIRST CLASS BRAT that he is, kept running back to me wanting to throw the damn cat at ME. T_T

I was scrambling for my dear life on my swivel chair, trying to grab on everything that I could and clung on to my dear life, screaming and shouting like a girl! Oh wait… I am a girl! -_- Anyway, GAHHHHHHH! T______T (no, Theva, this is not for you to fill in the blank)

And the most unbelievable thing actually happened: Malaysians, well known for their "kind and helpfulness" that the government is so proud to proclaim, were just sitting back, laughing and watching another fellow countryman being tormented! Despite my ed was telling them how phobic I am towards cats! Can you believe that?!!! >(

No one cared. I don’t feel loved. I is scared. *quiver*

T____T So kesian me…. good thing my ed still have a tiny little heart, and kept picking up the cat whenever the boy threw the cat down/at me or when he let slip the frigging cat next to my chair. (3k for him to torment a human AND an animal!) T__________T (No. Don't. Fill. In. Blanks)

I thought children are supposed to be angelic? Why are they like that??? Why is THIS one like that??? Why is he so evil??? Don't parents teach manners??? Don’t people understand what is phobia??? And I’m an Ailurophobe. Have I not made this clear enough? My bad if I haven’t. Well here you go:

Ailurophobia: An abnormal and persistent fear of cats which produces an undue anxiety reaction even though sufferers realize their fear is irrational.

From the Greek "ailouros" (cat) and "phobos" (fear). Alternate spellings: "Aelurophobia," "elurophobia." The Greek word "ailourous" has also given us the English word "Ailuroidea," a zoological term for a group of carnivorous animals including cats, hyenas and civets.

And just so you won’t go around, laugh, and taunt poor souls, these fears exist too.

=’(

This is definitely gaining an entry into my “The Most Undignified Day In My Life” category... OK, beside this one. -_-

It’s not funny anymore. I want my bouncer =’(

Of Sustenance & Survival

The weekend is right around the corner, again. -_-

Why time flies? Why ah??? The minute you hit 20, time just *foosh*foosh* in a blink. Did you notice? Or was it just me? O_O

Argh.

I haven’t even had the time to jot down about last week and suddenly, whoo hoo! Hello weekend! Zzzz. (Actually I kind of have the time lah, these 2 days, but was too lazy occupied with other things)

Last weekend was erm… eventful (an understatement). Boys and girls, when you pray, be careful of what you pray for. Daughtry said it: you might just it get it all. And then some.

… Hokay. I’m crapping.

In short, God kept me energizer-bunnied through out the last weekend, I am amazed, still is.

See, we were invited to share with the tweenagers about life and relationships (ahem) at their PYjamas night in church. If you haven’t had tweenagers (ages 10/11/12/13) in your household and are planning to have one or two soon, let me tell you this: they. don’t. sleep.

Oh, and they LOVE talking! =D So be prepared, you know, stock up earplugs, sleeping pills, funds for soundproof walls and consultation fees with the shrinks, etc.

So the boys and girls are separated in different rooms during bedtime (of course lah -_-). I joined the girls while Jason joined the boys.

Random boy walked up to Jason after lights off,

Boy: Are you lonely? I accompany you, OK?

And without waiting for response, he grabbed his sleeping bag, and plonked right next to Jason.

Boy: Do you like girls? I like girls. *Yak yak yak yak till 6AM. *

x_x

And then somewhere in the later, or early middle of the night, depends on how you look at it, Jason called me on my hand phone to come out (and woke me up! Grr). So I zombied out of the room in long baggy pants, big white baggy t-shirt, and uh, long untied hair.

Somewhere across the hall: Yerr!!! Ghost ah!!!! *shriek like a girl*

Jason rebutted: It’s not a ghost lah! It’s my wife! -__-

Awww, so schweeta you!

(Oh, an interesting side note. It was here in the PYjamas night I first saw an old man but young at heart young man but old at heart JeeJin turned into a shave cream pie. Ha. Ha. I laughed my head off, but not so funny in the end, because have to clean up the mess in the middle of the night after that T__T)

So no body got to sleep the whole night. The next morning, we took off at 11am. Reached my parents’ home, I started working on my translation till 3pm, quickly packed and rush off to the Putra Height’s Mid Autumn Festival Celebration (got roped in as committee T_T)

The weather was SO hot! I had rashes and red patches all over my face! Gah! Set up, set up, and more set up. Event finished, pack up, pack up, and more pack up. Load. Load. And more loading. Then unload. Unload. And more unloading. Reached home at 1am.

Slept at 2. Woke up at 9 *screams* showered and rushed for service, and heard 2 tear jerking testimonies. Lunched, and headed in for another meeting (chewah, I feel so corporate!). No lah, not exactly meeting, just bantering (where Dohnie binged on junk food NON STOP! -_-) while discussing about our Christmas musical thing musical production. We are planning for a PRODUCTION (*cough* just to up my corporate image here. Hehe).

And then wrapped up at 5pm, reached parents’ home, and worked on my translation again at 5:30pm; decided to skip dinner with family, but mom and dad kept pestering inviting. So OK lah, we went. After dinner and worked on some more (due the following day!!!!) and by the time I finished, it’s 10:40pm. =_=

Packed up, Federal Highway jammed, reached home at 12. Knocked out. Woke up at 5am to check my work. Drove to work at 7am. And another work day with all its craziness ensued.

And then, with the minimal shut-eye and perpetual rush, the tiredness finally kicked in….

+_+

The end.

P/S This post is not meant to show off (how are you going to relate it to showing off, I don’t know) but I just want to remind myself that, through out everything, God sustains.

God is so good. Really. He is.
